The Palm Beach County Young Democrats (PBCYD) Vote Naked Campaign works to Educate, Empower, and Engage Young Democrats. The campaign began as a way to inform young people about our government at every level. In 2011, when the Florida Legislature passed two bills that made voting and registering to vote more difficult, we added vote from home and voter registration drives. Being young in Palm Beach County politics is challenging. The PBCYDs have used the Vote Naked Campaign to help overcome this obstacle. We have partnered with the many organizations around the county to host education and engagement events. When young people are engaged in the political process our issues become a priority! Too many millennials believe that politics and government are all corrupt. We have made it our mission to bring the information, candidates, and elected officials to the table with young voters to give them a voice.
The Vote Naked Campaign has already been implemented throughout Palm Beach County. But our program has been limited and is in great danger of ending because we lack the funds. We would love to have the financial ability to print materials, mail information, and much more. We hold monthly meetings which provide information on hot political issues, policy, and elections. We also host events such as Vote Naked Phone Banks, Pub Crawls, and candidate forums to engage young people in the political process.
