In order to help communities around the State of Florida become more civically and community engaged, I suggest to create a millennial based committee composed of various Individuals to create a city based campaign to encourage other millennial to commit to being civically and community engaged. The committee will be composed of a diverse set of millennial from across the city, which, with their unique diversity, we will be able to formulate a successful campaign in which we will be able to reach thousands of millennial, with different interest and promote civic engagement. Aside from the campaign, these millennial will have the opportunity to connect with their neighbors friends and family, to decide what most matter to them, come up with a solution and take action, rather than letting the problem continue happening. By forming the committee and creating this campaign, we will be able to transform excitement about community and civic engagement into action.
We plant to implement this by integrating with various local programs to reengineer what campaigns have been doing. With the help of national campaign such as ¨Faces and Voices of Recovery¨, ¨Democracia Now¨ ¨Rock the vote¨ and ¨Centro Presente¨ , we will be able to use their campaign tactics and use them in a local level to help build an active generation with a sense of unity. Booths, equipped with organizing tools such as Voter Pledges, pins, flyers, as well as invitations to join the committee will be placed in all campuses. After the campaign is well under way, the committee will be able to work as a ¨city council¨ to help create a forum where millennials will be able to bring ins problem and work to find a solution.
