A different world cannot be built by indifferent people. People need to start caring. The real intent of civic engagement is to shift the context within which traditional problem solving, investment, and social and community action takes place. Our objective is to empower the community to become informed citizens and lifelong activists. In doing this we will better prepare in providing a knowledge and background about Civic involvement throughout our community. We would like our generation to become agents of positive knowledgeable, skilled and committed to the greater good within local, regional, national and global communities. In addition to that, our project consists in encouraging students with high interest in civic responsibility to join us in promoting civic engagement. Students interested in participating in the community voting outreach day will need to attend a meeting which will be held at our college to discuss and plan how we can Voice to the community specific issues.
During each voting day, a group of students with a serious interest in Civic engagement will be sent to a specific site to “Voice to the Community”. During this outreach, we will engage and inform our community members about the different benefits of being activists in our community. By giving out different insights we will provide specific details on Community problems that need to be addressed. Each day we will have an active community leader for example: Mayor, Senator, or a Civics Teacher to enforce our ideas on how to become a better citizen in our community. The purpose of this project is to train and mentor our active community to network and promote civic engagement to non-active voters.
